During the Schepis children's young adulthood, the Fire House became the destination for numerous hiking, camping, rafting, skiing trips and a summer vacations. It slowly became a family favorite getaway destination for all seasons. Kyle and Nicole learned to swim in the local Echo Lake, to hike behind the house, appreciate nature all around, and learned to ski at West Mountain in Glen Falls, all up at the house. "The Fire House" was named by Kyle Schepis when he was two years old because of the wood burning stove. Almost two decades later, the name stuck.
